As a passionate software developer with a deep understanding of React, TypeScript, Express, Node.js, NestJS, and various testing tools, I am committed to delivering excellence in every project I undertake. With my skills and expertise, I have the ability to create visually stunning, user-friendly, and high-performance websites that not only meet but exceed expectations.
I am a creative and enthusiastic individual who transitioned from designing beautiful buildings to the dynamic world of programming. My initial exposure to programming dates back to my undergraduate days in architecture, where I learned the basics of C and C++ as an optional subject.
After gaining valuable experience in the planning and construction domain in the UAE and UK, I joined University College London as a postgraduate student in Adaptive Architecture and Computation. This program not only broadened my architectural perspective but also reintroduced me to computer programming. I explored computational design using Java and a Java-based language called Processing, primarily used for visual design. This rekindled my interest in programming, and I envisioned a future as a full-time programmer.
During the most challenging and rewarding phase of my life—becoming a mother to two wonderful boys—I took a career break to be with them during their formative years. Despite this pause, I kept my creative spirit alive by running a designer cake business, organizing party decorations, and assisting friends with interior design projects.
As I contemplated a career shift from architecture, I quickly realized that computer programming was my true passion. After careful consideration, I chose to pursue software development, particularly frontend development, as it perfectly blends my creative skills with my interest in programming. I began with rigorous self-study of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Sass, PHP, and React. Securing my first role as a web developer, I spent three months deeply immersed in absorbing new knowledge, honing my skills, and identifying areas for growth. Unfortunately, I faced a setback when I lost my job after this period. Despite this, the experience solidified my dedication to becoming an exceptional developer. Subsequently, I further refined my expertise in React and successfully completed the Tech Returners software development program.
Following this, I volunteered as a frontend developer at Unify Giving, where I had the opportunity to lead a team. This experience allowed me to apply my newly acquired skills in a real-world setting and further solidified my commitment to a career in software development. I am now thrilled to be recognized as a full-stack software developer, ready to create visually stunning, user-friendly, and high-performance websites.
